How a postbiotic is made

From strain selection to controlled fermentation and inactivation: how Ingulados produces a postbiotic in Cáceres.

Animation with on-screen text in English and background music; no narration.

Transcript

Our own science · Cáceres. What is a postbiotic? Not pre, not pro: a postbiotic does not need to be alive. [Prebiotic: fibre that feeds. Probiotic: live bacterium. Postbiotic: ready-made.]

  1. Genetic mapping, strain by strain. Lactobacillus spp., isolated and identified.
  2. Genetic screening. [Strains are checked one by one; those carrying resistance genes are rejected.] Only strains free of resistance genes go through.
  3. Controlled fermentation. In-house bioprocess in bioreactors.

No live cells · no cold chain. What the strain produces.

Anatomy. The set of molecules, not the live cell.

Mechanism · local action. It strengthens the gut barrier.

No antibiotics · no withdrawal period. Gut health, from the lab to the farm.

Field result (n = 693, p = 0.0023): −64.6% in calf mortality, without vs with. Prevention, not cure: the figure is a reduction, not a promise.

One shared vision. Animal health, human health and environmental health: animals, people and environment, ONE HEALTH.
